Project Options

Project Option selections allow Do-more Designer users the ability to carry some setup options from project to project.

Selections in the Connecting group determine the actions Do-more Designer takes when opening an online session to a CPU.

Compare edge bits and instruction IDs between Designer and PLC - Instruction IDs and Edge Bits are pieces of information that Do-more Designer adds to a project when that project is downloaded to a CPU. These pieces of information are then subsequently used by Do-more Designer when doing RUN-mode updates to keep track of which instructions have changed since the last time the project was downloaded. By default, the Edge Bits and instruction IDs are not included any time the copy of the project in the CPU is compared to the offline copy of the project. By enabling this option they will be included in future comparisons.

See Compare Program for more information on Online / Offline project comparison.

Selections in the Creating New Code Block group determine the actions Do-more Designer takes when a new Task, Program, Subroutine, or Interrupt Service Routine is created.

When creating from Ladder Editor... options are used when the code-block is created using the Ladder Editor (not Importing, or using Copy / Paste to create a new code block).

  • Automatically create then open its Ladder View will create the code-block with no prompting for additional user input, then open it in a Ladder View.

  • Automatically create then do NOT open its Ladder View will create the code-block with no prompting for additional user input.

  • Prompt will prompt for user input at each step of the code-block creation process.

If Open the Code Block Configuration dialog- which has options for making the Code-Block retentive, setting the initial .TimeSlice value, and code-block protection is enabled, that dialog will be automatically opened after the code-block is created.

Set As Default will write the current Project Option settings to Do-more Designer's .INI file for use in other projects.

Read Default will read the Project Option settings from Do-more Designer's .INI file, and set this dialog's selections to the match those found in the INI file.
