The ethernet-capable devices that we build have radically different firmware and boot loader files. To manage the complexity of the firmware and boot loader update process we created the NetEdit utility.We highly encourage everyone to download and install the latest version (NetEdit v3 - Network Configuration and Update Utility). NetEdit3 is the only way to update the firmware and boot loaders in these devices. Do-more Designer and DirectSOFT both install the version of NetEdit that was current when their respective installations we built. You may
have also noticed that we've removed the individual firmware ZIP
files from our web site for the EBCs, ECOMs, ERMs, EDRVs and PBCs. We've
done this to encourage you to use the "LiveUpdate" feature of NetEdit3
to download the firmware files and then use it to handle the firmware
updates. The firmware files on our web site are now encoded with a
checksum that the LiveUpdate feature uses to make sure the firmware
files are downloaded correctly. |

For users who cannot use the Live Update feature in NetEdit or the Check For Updates feature in Do-more Designer: We have made a WinZIP file that contains the latest version of all the firmware binary files. Download the WinZIP file and extract its contents to the Public Documents folder on the PC that has NetEdit and/or Do-more Designer installed. The WinZIP file contains folders and files, so be sure to 'use folder names' if given a choice by the UnZIP software.

Acquiring and applying firmware updates for any of the
Do-more CPUs is managed through the Help -> Check for Updates feature in
the Do-more Designer programming
software.

Note When the CTRIO is being used with Do-more CPUs the firmware is installed with Do-more Designer, and the upgrade is done within Do-more Designer. So you don't need to download the firmware file from here, use the LiveUpdate feature in Do-more Designer to get any missing firmware files.
