H2-SERIO and H2-SERIO-4 Information

The H2-SERIO and H2-SERIO-4 modules are 3 Port Serial I/O modules for use with the H2 Series of CPUs (H2-DM1, H2-DM1E), and the WinPLCs (H2-WPLC-x). These modules provide additional serial ports which have the ability to connect with a wide range of serial devices, such as barcode scanners, scales, printers, modems, etc..

There are two models of the H2 Serial I/O modules

the H2-SERIO which has 3 RS-232C ports
the H2-SERIO-4 which has 2 RS-232 ports and 1 RS422/485 port

An H2 Series Do-more CPU can support any mix of up to 8 SERIO or SERIO-4 modules - the only limit is the number of slots in the local base - for a total of 25 RS-232 serial ports (this includes the one the Do-more CPU itself).

A WinPLC can support any mix of up to 3 of these modules for a total of 10 RS-232 serial ports (this includes the one the WinPLC itself). The port numbers are assigned from left to right across the base. For example, on a WinPLC the onboard port is Com 1, the first SERIO module is assigned Com 2, Com 3 and Com 4, the next SERIO is assigned Com 5, Com 6, and Com 7, the final SERIO is assigned Com 8, Com 9 and Com 0.
