What's New in Version 4.51 Build 19 (with DirectSOFT v5.3) 04 Jun 2008

  • Includes DSCOMM4.CBX, DS CommServer, DS ElemServer, and METER4.CBX Versions 5.3 (5.3.194).
     

  • CommServer - Improved multithread-safe behavior, this should also fix some mysterious CSMain crashes!

What's New in Version 4.51 Build 19 (with DirectSOFT v5.2) 20 Jun 2007

  • Includes DSCOMM4.CBX, DS CommServer, DS ElemServer, and METER4.CBX Versions 5.2 (5.2.10).
     

  • CommServer - Now supports 57600 Baud and 115200 Baud Rate on serial links.  Currently, only the D0-DCM supports these faster baud rates as a DirectNET or K-Sequence slave to DirectSOFT.

So, after installing this software, your copy of LookoutDirect will still appear as Build 4.51.19 (check Lookout's Help-> About dialog). You can use the Version utility in DSLaunch to verify that the "DirectSOFT5 - Communications Server" components have been updated to 5.1.105.

  • DSCOMM4.CBX, METER4.CBX rebuilt with version 5.1 of the communication server and the element server.

What's New in Version 4.0 (Build 25),  9 September 2004

Note: This version contains updated versions of the DirectLOGIC components only, there are no changes to the Lookout components. So, after installing this software, your copy of LookoutDirect will still appear as Build 4.51.19 (check Lookout's Help-> About dialog). You can use the Version utility in DSLaunch to verify that the "DirectSOFT32 - Communications Server" components have been updated to 4.0.025.

  • Includes DSCOMM(4).CBX, DS Communications Server, DS Element Server, and METER(4).CBX Versions 4.0 Build 25 (4.0.25).

  • Install now correctly notifies LookoutDirect when the USB / Parallel Sentinel Key driver has been installed.

  • Comm Server: Fixed 330P problem when using DirectNET to access special C160-C177 range.

You can use the Version utility in DSLaunch to verify that the "DirectSOFT32 - Communications Server" components have been updated to 4.0.022.

  • Includes DSCOMM(4).CBX, DS CommServer, DS ElemServer, and METER(4).CBX Versions 4.0 Build 22 (4.0.22).

  • CommServer -- No longer hogs 99% of the PC's CPU on initial startup while waiting for non-existent IPX protocol and socket!  No longer crashes after User deletes all Comm Links!  Hopefully this fixes the last of the CommServer startup crashes / performance problems when IPX is not installed.

What's New in Version 4.0 (Build 20),  27 June 2003

  • CommServer -- Fixed CommServer startup crash caused by temporary internal CommLinks in DSLaunch -- most commonly seen when IPX not installed.

  • CommServer -- Improved CommServer startup performance, especially during first-time Auto-search for CommLinks, even with all COM devices enabled.

  • CommServer -- Fixed 3 problems in the Configure Link - Module Setup - Ethernet Module Setup dialog:
    1. Now fills the Devices list automatically.
    2. Devices list has been widened to accommodate display of the vertical scroll bar without obstructing view of MAC addresses.
    3. The Type field no longer displays "M00E00F00X00" for all of the devices in the list.

  • Installation -- Now installs NetEdLib.DLL (Version 2.4.0.1) and HEI32_3.DLL (Version 1.3.0.154).

  • Installation (DSP, DSData, LKD) -- No longer installs CTL3D32.DLL.

  • LookoutDirect -- Includes new Lookout Help and LookoutDirect Object Reference manual (LK4REF.PDF), updated May 2003.

  • LookoutDirect -- Now installs newer Version 5.41.1 (dated 17 Dec 2002) Sentinel drivers recommended by National Instruments.  Previous LKD 3.x and LKD 4.x releases installed Version 0.5.0.34 (c.1997) Sentinel drivers.  In the future, feel free to check for Sentinel System Driver updates at www.Rainbow.com.
